Oculoplasty is a surgical specialty that treats and repairs conditions of the areas around the eye, rather than the eyeball itself. These areas include the eyelid, tear duct and orbit (eye socket).

Functions of Oculoplasty Eye

  • Oculoplasty is used to treat a range of conditions including:
    ·         Blepharoplasty
Oculoplastic surgery to treat eye conditions that include droopy or overhanging eyelids and skin, most commonly associated with aging.
    ·         Ptosis
Drooping upper eyelids, ptosis can affect your field of vision. It is most frequently the result of aging, but it can also be a symptom of other health conditions. Eyelid surgery is used to repair the lid’s lifting muscle and, in some cases, extra skin from the eyelid also may be removed to help the eyelid lift.
    ·         Brow ptosis
Brow ptosis, or drooping eyebrow, can impair your peripheral vision. Brow lifting can correct the obstruction as well as give you a smoother appearance.
    ·         Botox injections
This treatment is used for abnormal blinking, eyelid tic or eyelid twitch (blepharospasm).
    ·         Entropion and ectropion
Entropion occurs when the eyelid turns inward, rubbing against the eye and causing significant irritation.
Ectropion causes the eyelid to turn out, exposing the white of the eye to debris and bacteria. Your doctor will create a tiny incision before tightening the eyelid to relieve discomfort.
    ·         Eyelid skin cancer biopsy
Our surgeon can perform a biopsy if you have a suspicious lesion on your eyelid.
    ·         Eyelid reconstruction
If you have treatment for cancer in the eye area you may need reconstruction to restore your appearance. Our surgeon will perform precise eyelid reconstructive surgery to restore your function and appearance.
    ·         Thyroid Eye Disease
Can include Grave’s Disease. Eyes have a bulging appearance due to inflamed tissue.
    ·         Blocked Tear Ducts
Commonly found in infants but can also occur in adults from infection, trauma, or tumors.
    ·         Injuries
Can repair and reconstruct damaged eye sockets.
