ESTABLISHMENT

The Tun Hussein Onn National Eye Hospital (THONEH) is a non-profit, non-government, charitable hospital established by the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB) for the prevention and treatment of diseases of the eye since 1986. THONEH is a company registered in Malaysia limited by guarantee.

THONEH is committed to providing comprehensive state-of-the-art professional services (diagnostic, curative, preventive and rehabilitative) in the nature of eye care for all strata of Malaysian Society, develop quality educational and research programmes; and provide community based eye care services.

THONEH is well staffed with qualified and experienced doctors, including 11 Ophthalmologists who are experts in various subspecialties in Ophthalmology. There are 5 Optometrists in the Vision Care Centre with a wide range of experience including Low Vision.

At RSC, a LASIK centre, this is part of THONEH’s subspecialty unit, a fully equipped Hospital that specialises in all eye surgeries and conditions.

At RSC, we offer excellent quality service for every one of our patients. Our mission is to offer top quality international standard refractive surgery. Our staffs consist of highly qualified Optometrists, Ophthalmic Nurses, experienced Theatre Nurses and well-trained LASIK Clinical Assistant to give you personal one-to-one counselling and the personal care that you need. We ensure quality service by continually monitoring our clinical results with relevant tests and multiple follow ups with the Refractive Surgeons every step of the way, before and after treatment, so as to give all our patients the most satisfactory, continuous service.

TECHNOLOGY

At RSC, our LASIK Center offers updated technologies to provide quality vision. For example, Custom LASIK uses the new wavefront technology to capture, match and treat individual’s cornea and address higher order aberrations that causes different degree of glare and haloes problem especially at night. At RSC, Refractive Surgery Specialists and team will take time to perform multiple tests and examine the patient’s eye. We take time to explain to each patient the options that are available and offer suitable options to their eye. Decisions will be made by the Refractive Surgeons together with the patients in order to provide the best possible results in accordance to individual’s eye
